About Us

Meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month (except December) in the library of DuBois Elementary School.

SRARC is comprised of people who find beach-combing to be enjoyable and therapeautic. For us metal detecting is a recreational hobby. But we recognize the responsibility and opportunity that come along with it: we work to preserve Florida's coastline and rediscover historical and environmental treasures. Through our hobby, we have become stewards of Florida's shoreline, and work with government agencies to monitor shore erosion, dumping and pollution, and reef and cliff damage.

SRARC is dedicated to optomizing the recreational enjoyment of its beach combing members by networking our knowledge of weather fronts, geography, ocean currents, and seasonal events to maximize the finds, while utilizing our presence on the shore to uphold the beauty of Florida's Coast.
